Geotic - Mend
I’m a fan of Will Wiesenfeld’s poppier work as Baths and his more laid-back work as Geotic—I’ve posted a Geotic ep before, and an ep of Mend remixes by Teen Daze. Geotic’s music is lush and laid-back, slowly ambling through your dreamscapes with washes of synth and little guitar loops. It deposits melodies that drift for days in your subconscious, never really resolving but never really going away either. Wiesenfeld has tapped into something impressive with his ambient Geotic work—he has distilled soothing feelings into sound. You can bet this is going on my newborn son’s iPod playlist when he finally arrives later this month.
